Westek Architectural Woodworking
First-Time Website
This Massachusetts manufacturer of architectural woodwork needed a professional business website to showcase their high-end work to their prospective customers. The company never had a website before, so we started this web development project from scratch.
Having an attractive gallery of project photos on their new website was a priority for our client. Our challenge, however, was that the company had a limited number of project photos, none of which were digital, and most of which were poor quality snapshots that were not suitable for web use.
What We Did
We employed a number of techniques to solve the problem. First, we scanned the print photos to create digital files. Then we carefully enhanced the images by retouching, color correcting and photo reconstruction, as well as using object isolation, levels adjustment, gradient mask application and contrast and saturation adjustments.
Although the digitally enhanced images were now usable, there simply weren’t enough of them to create a decent project gallery on our client’s new website. To solve this problem, our client used our photography services, having us shoot professional, on-location photos of the company’s recent work. We also photographed their facility and staff, which gave us the quality images we needed to populate their entire site with plenty of engaging visuals.
Additional Services
In addition to web design, development and photography, this project also included our content writing services. Starting from scratch, we identified and prioritized the website’s main content areas. Through several interviews with the company president and select staff members, we gathered the relevant information that we needed to develop and write all of their website’s content.
